GD350: Flash Grammar LIBRARY TERMINOLOGY Library: Manager that stores all assets that may be needed for a Flash design Asset: General term for item stored in Flash Library, includes all symbols, fonts, sounds, video clips and bitmaps in library Symbol: Graphics created and stored in a library Font Symbols: Fonts stored in a library Instance: An asset that is in use on the Flash stage Timeline: The complete record of your movie Stage: The area where the Flash movie is present Properties Inspector: Allows one to view and change the attributes of tools and graphic elements on page (including color, style and font for text tool) Parameters: Part of Properties Inspector; displays information about components Tween: a visual change between several frames that includes object movement, fades and morphing Button Component: a predefined graphic that includes pre-determined commands; components available include a scroll pane, text areas, radio buttons and many more Event Driven Sound: sound that is inserted into a single frame and started due to an action in a Flash movie; ex: a button being clicked Streaming Sound: sound that is placed directly into a layer; begins to play as it downloads; can be added to timeline in the same fashion as a symbol |
